Description
Indications
Xeloda is an antineoplastic agent that functions by impeding the proliferation of malignant cells and impeding their dissemination throughout the body.
This medication is administered either as a monotherapy or in conjunction with other chemotherapeutic agents to manage colon cancer, breast cancer, or colorectal cancer.
In certain cases, Xeloda is utilized as a treatment option when cancer has advanced to distant sites in the body, a condition commonly known as metastatic cancer.
Uses and Dosage
Prior to initiating treatment with capecitabine, kindly peruse the Patient Information Leaflet, if made available by your pharmacist, and repeat the same process each time you refill your prescription. In case of any inquiries, kindly seek clarification from your physician or pharmacist.
Take this medication orally as directed by your physician, generally twice daily at 12-hour intervals. Your doctor may recommend taking this medication in a specific treatment cycle. Adhere to your physician’s instructions.
Swallow the tablets whole with water within half an hour after eating. Refrain from crushing, chewing, or splitting the tablets. In case you encounter difficulties swallowing the tablets, consult your healthcare provider for guidance.
The dose of this medication is dependent on your medical condition, physical size, and response to treatment. Do not increase the dose or use this medication more frequently or for longer periods than prescribed. Doing so will not expedite recovery and may increase your vulnerability to side effects.
If you experience vomiting after taking a dose, do not consume another dose at that moment. Take your subsequent dosage at the scheduled time.
Given that this drug may be absorbed via the skin and lungs and could cause harm to an unborn child, pregnant or potentially pregnant women should not come into contact with this medication or inhale the dust emanating from the tablets.
