Indications 

Volmax is a prescribed medication used to alleviate bronchospasm in adults and children aged 6 and above who have reversible obstructive airway conditions, including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 

As an adrenergic bronchodilator, Volmax functions by expanding the bronchial tubes in the lungs, thus facilitating increased airflow. This action alleviates symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and labored breathing. 

Uses and Dosage 

Before starting treatment with Volmax and with every prescription refill, carefully review the medication guide and patient information leaflet given by your pharmacist. If you have any questions or concerns, promptly consult your doctor or pharmacist for assistance. 

The dosage of Volmax is determined based on individual medical conditions and response to the treatment. 

Typically, Volmax is taken 3 or 4 times daily as prescribed by the doctor. 

For optimal results, take this medication regularly at the same time each day, exactly as directed. 

Avoid increasing the prescribed dosage or frequency of intake of this medication, as doing so can heighten the risk of severe side effects. 

Contact your doctor if your symptoms deteriorate or you feel Volmax is no longer effectively managing your symptoms. 

Side Effects 

Listed below are the potential adverse effects of Volmax. Promptly notify your doctor if any of these symptoms persist or worsen. 

Common Side Effects 

• Nervousness and heightened excitability 
• Dizziness or headaches 
• Upset stomach or vomiting 
• Shakiness 

Serious Side Effects 

• Signs of high blood pressure, such as: 
  • Severe headaches 
  • Dizziness 
  • Fainting 
  • Changes in vision 
• Indications of low potassium levels including: 
  • Muscle pain 
  • Weakness 
  • Cramps 
  • Irregular heartbeat 
• Chest pain or pressure 
• Rapid or abnormal heartbeat 

Call your doctor and ask for immediate medical help if any of the serious side effects above are experienced. 

Volmax can occasionally result in serious respiratory complications, which may pose a risk to one’s life. Typically, such issues arise following the initial administration of this medication. Seek immediate medical assistance if experiencing difficulties in breathing, exacerbated breathing patterns, wheezing, or coughing. 

A severe skin reaction, known as Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis, can occur and may lead to lasting health complications or even fatal outcomes. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe symptoms such as: 

• Red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin (with or without fever) 
• Red or irritated eyes 
• Sores in the mouth, throat, nose, or eyes 

Allergic Reactions 

In rare cases, Volmax may trigger a serious allergic response. Seek immediate medical aid if you observe any indications of an allergic reaction, such as: 

• Rash 
• Hives 
• Itching 
• Red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin (with or without fever) 
• Wheezing 
• Chest or throat tightness 
• Difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking 
• Unusual hoarseness 
• Swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat 

Not all side effects of Volmax are included in this list. Tell your doctor of any new side effects that may occur. 

Cautions 

Prior to commencing Volmax treatment, inform your doctor about any known allergies, particularly to albuterol, or if you have previously had a serious adverse reaction to similar drugs (such as levalbuterol, metaproterenol, terbutaline). 

Consult your doctor for additional information about Volmax, as it may contain inactive components that can potentially trigger allergic reactions or other issues. 

To ensure Volmax is safe for you, disclose to your doctor your medical background, especially if you have a history of: 

• Cardiovascular issues (e.g., irregular heartbeat, angina, heart attack) 
• Hypertension (high blood pressure) 
• Diabetes 
• Seizures 

Inform your healthcare providers about all your medications, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements, to reduce the risk of drug interactions with Volmax. 

The use of Volmax may result in dizziness. Avoid driving, using machinery, or performing tasks that require alertness until you can do them safely. 

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intending to become pregnant before taking Volmax. A discussion regarding the potential advantages and risks for both you and your baby will be necessary. 

The transfer of albuterol into breast milk is uncertain. Prior to nursing, seek advice from your healthcare provider.
