Description
Indications
Vicks VapoRub is a topical ointment that contains a combination of active ingredients, including camphor, eucalyptus oil, and menthol. When applied to the chest, throat, and back, these ingredients produce a cooling and soothing effect that can help relieve cough and congestion symptoms.
Vicks VapoRub is intended for use by individuals aged two and up. This is designed to be used as a cough suppressant and is not intended to treat underlying respiratory conditions.
Always follow the instructions provided with any medication or product, and to consult with a healthcare professional if you have any questions or concerns about using Vicks VapoRub or any other medicines.
Uses and Dosage
For individuals aged two years and older, the recommended application method for Vicks VapoRub is to apply a thick layer to the chest and throat area or massage it onto sore and aching muscles.
A warm, dry cloth may be placed over the treated area if desired. Loose clothing around the chest and throat region should be worn to facilitate the diffusion of medicated vapors toward the nose and mouth.
The application may be repeated thrice within 24 hours or following medical advice. This is imperative to note that Vicks VapoRub should not be administered to children below the age of 2 years.
