Description
IndicationsÂ
Terazol 7 Vaginal Cream is a medication used to treat vaginal yeast infections. It helps reduce the symptoms associated with vaginal yeast infections, such as vaginal burning, itching, and abnormal discharge. Â
The cream contains the active ingredient terconazole, which belongs to a class of drugs called azole antifungals. Terconazole works by inhibiting the growth of fungi, specifically Candida species, which are responsible for causing vaginal yeast infections. It interferes with the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of the fungal cell membrane. This disruption weakens the cell membrane and leads to the death of the fungi.Â
Use and DosageÂ
Terazol 7 Vaginal Cream is designed for intravaginal administration and helps reduce symptoms such as vaginal burning, itching, and discharge associated with yeast infections. Use the cream as directed by your doctor, usually once daily at bedtime for 3 or 7 days. Â
Use the cream at bedtime, unless otherwise directed by your doctor or health care professional. Wash your hands before and after use. Screw the applicator onto the end of the tube and squeeze the tube to fill the applicator. Remove the applicator from the tube. Lie on your back. Gently insert the applicator tip high in the vagina and push the plunger to release the cream into the vagina. Gently remove the applicator. Wash the applicator well with warm water and soap. Use at regular intervals. Do not get the cream in your eyes. If you do, rinse out with plenty of cool tap water. Finish the full course prescribed by your doctor or health care professional even if you think your condition is better. Do not stop using the cream if your menstrual period starts during the time of treatment.Â
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses.Â
