Description
IndicationsÂ
Synarel Nasal Spray is a prescription medication used primarily in women to treat a condition called endometriosis, where the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows in the wrong place. Â
Synarel Nasal Spray contains nafarelin acetate, which is a synthetic hormone analogue. It works by suppressing the production of certain hormones in the body, specifically the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). This helps to reduce the growth of the endometrial tissue and alleviate symptoms associated with endometriosis.Â
Use and DosageÂ
Synarel Nasal Spray is intended for administration as a spray to the nasal mucosa. Use the spray as directed by your doctor, usually twice daily (about every 12 hours). If you are using more than 1 spray at a time, wait 30 seconds between each spray. Â
Here is a general guide on how to use Synarel Nasal Spray:Â
- Before using the nasal spray for the first time, you may need to prime the pump. Follow the specific instructions provided with your medication to prime the pump.Â
- Gently blow your nose to clear your nasal passages before using the spray. This helps ensure proper absorption of the medication.Â
- Shake the Synarel Nasal Spray bottle gently to ensure the contents are mixed well.Â
- Remove the protective cap from the bottle and hold the bottle upright. Â
- Tilt your head slightly forward and insert the nozzle into one nostril. Close the other nostril by pressing your finger against it.Â
- Press down on the pump to release one spray of medication into the nostril. Breathe in gently through your nose as you spray to help the medication reach deep into your nasal passages.Â
- Repeat the process for the other nostril, using the same steps.Â
- After each use, wipe the nozzle with a clean tissue or cloth and replace the protective cap.Â
Use the spray exactly as prescribed by the doctor. For it to be effective, it must be used regularly without interruption. If you miss a dose of the spray, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.Â
