Soolantra Cream is a prescribed medication for treating inflammatory lesions of rosacea, a chronic skin condition characterized by redness and rashes, typically affecting the nose and cheeks. 

Soolantra Cream falls under the category of macrocyclic lactones. While its precise mechanism against rosacea remains unclear, it is considered to mitigate symptoms like redness, swelling, and pimples associated with the condition. 

Uses and Dosage 

Before using Soolantra Cream and with every prescription refill, carefully review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. Seek the guidance of your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. 

Soolantra Cream is intended solely for topical application and should not be used orally, ophthalmically, or intravaginally. 

Do not allow this medication to come into contact with your eyes, nose, or lips. If this occurs unintentionally, promptly rinse with ample cool water. 

Typically, Soolantra Cream is applied to the affected area once daily as prescribed by the doctor. 

To properly apply this cream, follow these steps: 

1. Prior to the application of this medication, ensure you wash your hands. 
2. Cleanse the affected area with a gentle soap or soapless cleanser, then gently dry by patting. 
3. Apply a pea-sized amount for each affected facial region (forehead, chin, nose, and each cheek). 
4. Evenly spread the cream in a thin layer, ensuring smooth coverage. 
5. Thoroughly wash your hands after application. 

For optimal results, use Soolantra Cream exactly as directed at a regular time each day. 

Refrain from using excessive quantities or applying this cream more frequently than instructed. Doing so will not expedite the resolution of your condition and might elevate the risk of adverse effects. 

Notify your doctor promptly if there is no improvement in your condition or if it worsens. 

Side Effects 

Most Soolantra Cream users experience no severe side effects. Nonetheless, rare instances of mild burning at the application site and skin irritation may arise. If these symptoms persist or worsen, promptly inform your doctor or pharmacist. 

Allergic Reactions 

Although rare, a severe allergic reaction to Soolantra Cream may occur. Seek prompt medical assistance in case of any signs of an allergic reaction, such as: 

• Rash 
• Itching or swelling, particularly of the face, tongue, or throat 
• Intense dizziness 
• Difficulty in breathing

Cautions 

Before using Soolantra Cream, inform your doctor if you have any known allergies, particularly to ivermectin or other medicines.

The oral form of this medication enters breast milk in minor quantities. The transfer of ivermectin into breast milk in cream form is uncertain. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
