Drug Description

Indications

Prometrium is a crucial female hormone that plays a pivotal role in regulating ovulation and menstruation. Its administration is particularly valuable in women who are not experiencing menstrual periods due to a deficiency in progesterone levels, but who have not yet undergone menopause.

This medication is utilized to mitigate the risk of endometrial hyperplasia in postmenopausal women receiving estrogen hormone replacement therapy.

Prometrium is not indicated for preventing heart disease or dementia, as its use may actually heighten the probability of developing these ailments.
