Description
IndicationsÂ
ProAir Respiclick is a quick-relief medication prescribed for treating and preventing bronchospasm in individuals with reversible obstructive airway disease, such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Â
ProAir Respiclick is also indicated as a preventive measure against exercise-induced bronchospasm.Â
Classified as a bronchodilator, ProAir Respiclick works by inducing relaxation in the airway muscles, resulting in their expansion, and facilitating improved breathing.Â
Uses and DosageÂ
Before using ProAir Respiclick and with each prescription refill, carefully review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. If you have any questions, seek clarification from your healthcare provider or pharmacist.Â
ProAir Respiclick comes in a powder form inside an inhaler and works on a “breath-activated” system, delivering the medication exclusively when inhaled. Â
The usual recommended dosage of this inhaler is 2 inhalations every 4 to 6 hours, although, for certain patients, 1 inhalation every 4 hours may be effective.Â
If this inhaler is being utilized to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm, it must be used 15 to 30 minutes before exercise.Â
To properly use this quick-relief inhaler, follow these steps:Â
- Before use, hold the inhaler upright and fully open the cap.Â
- You will hear a clicking sound indicating the inhaler is ready for use.Â
- Do not open the red cap unless you are about to take a dose.Â
- Position the mouthpiece near your mouth and exhale comfortably, ensuring you do not exhale into the inhaler device.Â
- Place the mouthpiece in your mouth, close your lips tightly around it, and inhale steadily and deeply.Â
- Ensure you do not block the vent above the mouthpiece with your lips or fingers.Â
- Hold your breath for approximately 10 seconds or as long as you feel comfortable.Â
- If another dose is required, close the red cap, and repeat all the steps.Â
- After each use, close the cap securely to maintain the inhaler’s integrity.Â
Clean the exterior of the mouthpiece using a dry tissue or cloth whenever necessary.Â
Do not use water or any other liquids for cleaning, as it may impair the inhaler’s functionality.Â
Allow a minimum of 1 minute between using different inhalers if you use multiple inhalers simultaneously.Â
Carry this quick-relief inhaler at all times. Monitor the number of inhalations from the counter and dispose of the inhaler once you have reached the inhalation limit specified on the packaging.Â
Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen or if you feel that ProAir Respiclick is no longer effective in managing your symptoms.Â
