Description
Indications
NovaMax Ketone Meter Test Strip is designed for use with the Nova Max plus monitor. Nova Max Ketone Test Strips measure ketone levels in blood with a very small sample of just 0.8 microliters. Results are available in only 10 seconds.
One box of ketone strips contains 2 vials each with 5 test strips. Nova’s ketone test strips provide a 2-year shelf life from the date of manufacture. The test strip vial can be stored in the Nova Max Plus carrying case so that ketone strips are readily available. A pamphlet explaining ketone test results is included in each test strip box
Ketones are chemicals produced by the liver when the body breaks down fat for energy. They are often present in the blood and urine of individuals with diabetes, especially when blood sugar levels are high or during periods of fasting or low carbohydrate intake.
Use and Dosage
To use NovaMax Strip Ketone, you will need a Nova Max Plus glucose meter. The test strips are specifically designed to be used with this meter. Here is a step-by-step guide on how NovaMax Strip Ketone works:
- Ensure that your Nova Max Plus glucose meter is turned on and ready for testing.
- Insert a NovaMax Strip Ketone into the designated slot on the glucose meter. The meter will automatically switch to ketone testing mode.
- Prick your finger with a lancet to obtain a small drop of blood. You can use the lancet device included with your glucose meter or a separate lancet device.
- Gently touch the test strip to the blood droplet, allowing the strip to absorb the blood. Make sure the strip is fully saturated.
- The glucose meter will start analyzing the blood sample and within seconds, it will display the ketone level on the screen.
- Record the ketone level and dispose of the used test strip properly.
Follow the instructions provided with the Nova Max Plus glucose meter and NovaMax Strip Ketone for accurate and reliable results.
