Uses and Dosage
Please adhere to all instructions as indicated on your prescription label when taking Norflex. Do not exceed the recommended dosage, take it for an extended period beyond the recommended duration, or reduce the amount prescribed.
Norflex has addictive potential. Therefore, it should never be shared with another individual, particularly those who have a history of drug abuse or addiction. Ensure the medication is kept out of reach of others to prevent its misuse, as distributing or dispensing this drug to others is illegal.
Norflex is taken twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening. Comply with your healthcare provider’s prescribed dosing instructions.
Extended-release tablets should not be crushed, chewed, or broken. Instead, swallow them whole.
Norflex is just one component of a comprehensive treatment program that may include rest, physical therapy, or other pain relief measures.
Store Norflex at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light. When not in use, securely close the container.
Please monitor the quantity of medication used from each new bottle, as Norflex is a drug that can be abused. You should be vigilant if anyone is taking your medicine improperly or without a prescription.
Side Effects
Allergic Reactions
Seek emergency medical attention immediately if you experience indications of an allergic reaction such as hives, breathing difficulties, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Severe Side Effects
Norflex is known to cause severe side effects. If you experience any of the following, stop using Norflex and contact your healthcare provider without delay:
- A feeling of faintness, as if you may lose consciousness
- Painful or difficult urination
- Absence or reduced urination
- Confusion, anxiety, restlessness, tremors, or hallucinations
- Palpitations or fluttering in the chest

- Dizziness, drowsiness, or weakness
- Nausea or vomiting
- Dry mouth
- Constipation

Prior to using this medication, disclose your medical history to your doctor or pharmacist, particularly if you have a history of high eye pressure (glaucoma), gastrointestinal or esophageal disorders (such as ulcers, obstruction), difficulty in urination (due to an enlarged prostate), myasthenia gravis (a certain type of muscle/nerve disease), or heart ailments (such as rapid/irregular heartbeat, heart failure).
This medication may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. Consumption of alcohol or marijuana (cannabis) may exacerbate these symptoms. Please refrain from operating machinery, driving, or performing any activities requiring alertness or clear vision until you feel safe to do so. Please consult your doctor if you are using marijuana (cannabis).
Notify your doctor or dentist of all medications you use, including prescription drugs, non-prescription drugs, and herbal products before undergoing any surgical procedure.
Older adults may be more susceptible to the side effects of this medication, particularly confusion, drowsiness, constipation, or difficulty in urination. Confusion and drowsiness can increase the risk of falls.
During pregnancy, this medication should only be used if necessary. Please discuss the benefits and risks with your doctor.
