Indications

Use and Dosage 

To use a BD Disposable Needle, follow these general steps: 

1. Gather your supplies: Ensure you have a BD Disposable Needle, a compatible syringe, and any medication or solution you will be injecting. Make sure all supplies are clean and in good condition. 
2. Prepare the medication: If necessary, draw up the medication into the syringe according to the instructions provided by your healthcare professional or the medication package insert. 
3. Remove the needle cap: Carefully remove the protective cap from the needle. Avoid touching the needle tip to prevent contamination. 
4. Attach the needle to the syringe: Align the threaded end of the needle with the syringe hub and twist it clockwise until it is securely attached. Ensure it is tightly connected to prevent leakage during injection. 
5. Expel air bubbles: Hold the syringe with the needle pointing upward and gently tap the side to allow any air bubbles to rise to the top. Slowly push the plunger to expel the air until a small drop of medication appears at the needle tip. 
6. Prepare the injection site: Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and allow it to dry. Follow the specific instructions provided by your healthcare professional for the appropriate injection site. 
7. Administer the injection: Hold the syringe like a pencil or dart and insert the needle into the injection site at the proper angle and depth based on the type of injection. Slowly and steadily push the plunger to deliver the medication. 
8. Withdraw the needle: After injecting the medication, remove the needle from the injection site at the same angle it was inserted. Apply gentle pressure to the site with a clean cotton ball or swab if necessary. 

Immediately after use, carefully detach the needle from the syringe and place it in a puncture-resistant sharps container. Follow local regulations and guidelines for proper disposal of used needles. 

Cautions 

• Avoid recapping used needles by hand, as it can increase the risk of needlestick injuries. If recapping is necessary, use a one-handed scoop technique or a mechanical device designed for holding the needle cap. 
• Avoid unnecessary handling or manipulation of the needle to minimize the risk of contamination and injury. 
• BD Disposable Needles are intended for single-use only. Do not reuse needles as it can increase the risk of contamination and infection. 
• Needles can cause injuries if not handled properly. Always exercise  
• Used needles should be immediately placed in a puncture-resistant sharps container to prevent injuries and minimize the risk of contamination. Follow local regulations and guidelines for the proper disposal of used needles.
