Description
IndicationsÂ
Naprosyn SR is a medication used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation. It is used to treat conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and chronic pain states in which there is an inflammatory component. Â
Naprosyn SR contains the active ingredient naproxen, which belongs to the family of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the body that cause pain and inflammation.Â
Use and DosageÂ
Naproxen is best taken after a meal, or with food or milk. Do not lie down for about 15 minutes to 30 minutes after taking it. Swallow the tablets whole, and do not crush or chew them. Take the tablet by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually 2 or 3 times a day with a full glass of water. Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking this drug. To prevent stomach upset, take this medication with food, milk, or an antacid.Â
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.Â
