Use and Dosage
Gaviscon Extra Strength Butterscotch comes in the form of a tablet to take by mouth usually after meals and before bed. Chew 2-4 tablets after meals and at bedtime as needed, or as directed by a doctor. Do not take more than 16 tablets in 24 hours.
The recommended dosage for Gaviscon Extra Strength Butterscotch is to chew 2-4 tablets when symptoms of heartburn, indigestion, or acid reflux occur, or to take as directed by a doctor. The maximum recommended dosage is 16 tablets per day. Do not use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks, except under the advice and supervision of a doctor.
