Description
Indications
Enstilar foam is a convenient once-daily foam combining calcipotriene 0.005% (a vitamin D analog) and betamethasone dipropionate 0.064% (a corticosteroid). It effectively treats plaque psoriasis in adults and children aged 12 and above. This unique formulation of Enstilar foam offers enhanced clinical effectiveness and superior skin absorption compared to traditional calcipotriene/betamethasone dipropionate ointments.
Uses and Dosage
This medication is specifically intended for topical use on the skin. Follow your doctor’s instructions and apply a thin layer of the medication to the affected area(s) once daily. Gently and thoroughly rub it into the skin. After application, remember to wash your hands, unless you are treating your hands themselves. Avoid getting the medication in your eyes or mouth. If accidental contact occurs, rinse immediately with water. Refrain from applying this product to the face, underarms, or groin area. Unless directed by your doctor, do not use the ointment or foam for more than 4 weeks (or 8 weeks for the cream).
For the ointment, adults should not exceed 100 grams per week, unless closely monitored and directed by the doctor. Children and teenagers should not use more than 60 grams per week of the ointment.
When using the foam, shake the can before each use. Do not exceed 60 grams of foam every 4 days.
For the cream, do not use more than 100 grams per week.
Avoid bandaging, wrapping, or covering the treated area unless specifically instructed by your doctor. Additionally, refrain from applying this medication to large areas of damaged skin or using it in skin folds. Please do not exceed the prescribed amount or frequency of application, as doing so may increase the absorption of the medication into your bloodstream and heighten the risk of side effects.
If your condition does not show improvement or worsens, inform your doctor. It may take up to a week to observe any positive changes, and several weeks to experience the full benefits of this medication.

In rare cases, this product may elevate the calcium levels in your blood. Notify your doctor right away if you notice any of the following unlikely but serious side effects:

In Pregnancy:
Using high-potency topical steroid medications during pregnancy may increase the risk of low birth weight in newborns. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, inform your doctor about it.
In Lactation:
The safety of using Enstilar while breastfeeding is uncertain. Consult your doctor regarding any potential risks. If you apply betamethasone and calcipotriene to your chest, avoid areas that may come into contact with the baby’s mouth.
