Description
Indications
Edarbyclor is a pharmacological preparation consisting of a synergistic blend of azilsartan and chlorthalidone. Azilsartan, classified as an angiotensin II receptor blocker (commonly known as an ARB), functions by selectively blocking the angiotensin II receptor, thereby inhibiting its vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects.
Chlorthalidone, on the other hand, is classified as a thiazide diuretic, acting as a potent water pill to impede excessive salt absorption by the body, consequently mitigating fluid retention.
Edarbyclor finds its application in the management of hypertension, as it contributes to the reduction of blood pressure levels. This effect, in turn, aids in diminishing the likelihood of stroke or myocardial infarction occurrence.

If necessary to attain the desired blood pressure target, the dosage may be escalated after a duration of 2 to 4 weeks.
