Cromolyn Eyedrops are usually administered 4 to 6 times daily into the affected eye(s).Â
To properly use this eye drop, follow these steps:Â
- Begin by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water.Â
- Remove the cap and check the dropper tip for any damage or cracks.Â
- Avoid touching the dropper tip, and do not let it touch any surface to prevent contamination.Â
- Tilt your head back and use your index finger to pull down the lower eyelid, creating a pocket.Â
- Hold the dropper (tip down) close to the eye without touching it, using your other hand.Â
- Rest the remaining fingers of that hand against your face for stability.Â
- Look up and gently squeeze the dropper, allowing a single drop to fall into the pocket formed by the lower eyelid. Remove your finger from the eyelid.Â
- Close your eye for 2 to 3 minutes and tilt your head down as if looking at the floor. Avoid blinking or squeezing your eyelids.Â
- Apply gentle pressure on the tear duct by placing a finger on it.Â
- Use a tissue to wipe off any excess liquid from your face.Â
- If multiple drops are needed in the same eye, wait at least 5 minutes before administering the next drop.Â
- Immediately replace and tighten the cap on the dropper bottle after use. Do not wipe or rinse the dropper tip.Â
- Wash your hands to remove any residue of the medication.Â
Allow a 5-minute interval between using different eye medications, such as drops or ointments. Prioritize eye drops before ointments to ensure their proper absorption.Â
Use Cromolyn Eyedrops consistently around the same time(s) daily to achieve optimal results. Avoid modifying the dosage or increasing the frequency of use beyond your doctor’s instructions.Â
