Description
Indications Â
Clobex Shampoo is a prescription medicine indicated to treat moderate to severe scalp psoriasis in individuals aged 18 and above. Â
Clobex Shampoo is classified as a super-high potent topical corticosteroid. It effectively mitigates the inflammation, itching, and redness associated with the condition.Â
Uses and DosageÂ
Before using Clobex Shampoo and with each prescription refill, thoroughly review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns.Â
Clobex Shampoo is intended for external use only and should not be used in the eyes, mouth, or vagina.Â
Typically, Clobex Shampoo is applied to the affected areas of a dry (not wet) scalp once a day for 15 minutes before rinsing.Â
To properly use this shampoo, follow these steps:Â
- Do not wet your hair before applying the shampoo.Â
- Move the hair away from the scalp to expose one affected area.Â
- Position the bottle over the lesion and gently squeeze to apply a small amount of shampoo directly onto the lesion. (Avoid contact with facial skin, eyes, or lips. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.)Â
- Spread the product to cover the entire lesion with a thin, uniform film.Â
- Gently massage the shampoo into the lesion and repeat for additional lesions.Â
- Wash your hands after applying the shampoo.Â
- Allow the shampoo to sit on your scalp for 15 minutes without covering your head with a shower or bathing cap.Â
- After 15 minutes, apply water to create a lather and rinse thoroughly all areas of the scalp and body that have been exposed to the shampoo (such as hands, face, neck, and shoulders). Refrain from contact with eyes and lips, and limit contact with unaffected body parts. Â
Clobex Shampoo should be utilized for the shortest duration necessary. Treatment should be restricted to a maximum of 4 consecutive weeks, with a total weekly dosage not exceeding 50 g (50 mL or 1.75 fl. oz.).Â
Should your condition fail to improve within four weeks, consult your doctor.Â
