Indications 

The AeroChamber Adult Plus with Mask is a spacer device used in combination with inhalers to deliver medication effectively to adults or older children. It can be used with a variety of inhalers and is often prescribed for the treatment of respiratory conditions such as asthma. The device is specifically designed to help individuals inhale medication from inhalers more easily and effectively.  

The mask, which is attached to the AeroChamber, fits over the person’s mouth and nose, creating a seal. When the medication is released from the inhaler into the chamber, the person can inhale the medication at their own pace through the mask. This helps ensure that the individual receives the full dose of medication and reduces the amount lost in the mouth and throat.  

Use and Dosage 

The AeroChamber Adult Plus with Mask is particularly useful for individuals who may have difficulty using inhalers properly on their own. 

To use the AeroChamber Adult Plus with Mask, follow these general steps: 

1. Remove the cap from the Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI).  
2. Shake the MDI as per the instructions provided with the specific medication.  
3. Insert the MDI into the backpiece of the AeroChamber.  
4. Apply the mask to your face, ensuring a good seal over your mouth and nose.  
5. If your AeroChamber has a Flow-Vu Inspiratory Flow Indicator (IFI), it will only move if a good seal is created.  
6. Take a slow, deep breath in through the mask, pressing down on the MDI to release the medication. 
7. Hold your breath for a few seconds (as instructed), then breathe out slowly. 
8. Repeat the process if instructed to take multiple doses or as directed by your healthcare professional.

Cautions

• Aerochamber Adult Plus with Mask is intended for patients who may have difficulty with the coordination and control involved in using Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs) correctly.  
• Different mask sizes are available to fit patients of different ages. The device should be used as instructed and according to the specific medication’s package insert.  
• Ensure a good seal over the mouth and nose with the mask to maximize the effectiveness of medication delivery.  
• The device is designed for use in home, hospital, and clinic environments.  
• The AeroChamber Plus Flow-Vu is dishwasher safe on the top rack at temperatures up to 158°F (70°C).  
• Shake out excess water from the parts and allow them to air dry before reassembling.  
• The protective cap should be placed on the mouthpiece when the chamber is not in use (if applicable).  
• Adverse effects and precautions associated with the specific medication being delivered should be considered.
