Indications 

Trileptal is an approved medication for employment as a monotherapy or adjunctive therapy to manage partial-onset seizures in adults. Trileptal is indicated for monotherapy treatment of partial-onset seizures in pediatric patients aged 4 years and older and adjunctive therapy in pediatric patients aged 2 years and older with partial-onset seizures. 

Uses and Dosage 

Oxcarbazepine is a medication that is commonly prescribed to manage seizure disorders, known as epilepsy, either as a monotherapy or in combination with other medications. To ensure optimal results, take this medication orally, either with or without food, in accordance with the instructions provided by your physician. 

Typically, the dosage of Oxcarbazepine is determined based on your medical condition, your response to treatment, and other medications you may be taking. Children’s dosage is based on their weight. Your doctor may start you on a low dose initially and gradually increase the dose to reduce the risk of potential side effects.

Cautions

Discuss your medical history with your physician or pharmacist before using this medication. In particular, disclose any history of kidney disease and mineral imbalances, especially low levels of sodium in your blood.
