Indications 

Teveten Plus is an oral medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It is typically prescribed when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with eprosartan alone. 

Teveten Plus combines the active ingredients eprosartan and hydrochlorothiazide. The combination of eprosartan and hydrochlorothiazide in Teveten Plus allows for a more comprehensive approach to managing hypertension. Eprosartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, which helps to relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that helps the body get rid of excess salt and water, further lowering blood pressure. 

Use and Dosage 

Teveten Plus comes in the form of tablet to take Teveten Plus tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet unless advised by your doctor. Teveten Plus can be taken with or without food. You can choose to take it with a meal or on an empty stomach, based on your preference or as advised by your doctor. 

The recommended dose is typically one tablet taken once daily. Establish a routine with this medication by taking it at the same time each day. This helps ensure consistent blood levels of the medication. 

If you miss a dose of Teveten Plus, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.

Cautions 

• Allergies: Inform your healthcare provider if you have any known allergies to eprosartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other medications. Avoid the risk of allergic reactions or other adverse effects. 
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Teveten Plus is not recommended during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, as it may harm the unborn baby. It is also not recommended while breastfeeding, as both eprosartan and hydrochlorothiazide may pass into breast milk. Consult with your healthcare provider for appropriate alternatives if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. 
• Kidney and liver problems: Teveten Plus may not be suitable for individuals with severe kidney or liver problems. Discuss your medical history with your healthcare provider to determine if Teveten Plus is safe and appropriate for you. 
• Electrolyte imbalance: Hydrochlorothiazide, one of the components in Teveten Plus, is a diuretic that can cause electrolyte imbalances, such as low levels of potassium, sodium, and magnesium.  
• Dehydration: Teveten Plus, particularly hydrochlorothiazide, can increase urine output, which may lead to dehydration. Stay well-hydrated and consult your healthcare provider if you experience symptoms of dehydration, such as excessive thirst, dry mouth, dizziness, or reduced urine output. 
• Low blood pressure: Teveten Plus can lower blood pressure, which may cause symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting, especially when standing up from a sitting or lying position. Rise slowly and notify your healthcare provider if you experience persistent low blood pressure symptoms. 
• Interactions with other medications: Teveten Plus may interact with other medications, including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), lithium, certain diuretics, and other blood pressure medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking to avoid potential interactions. 
• Driving and operating machinery: Teveten Plus can cause dizziness or drowsiness in some individuals. If you experience these side effects, avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the medication affects you.
