Uses and Dosage

This medication is intended as a component of a comprehensive treatment plan that may encompass other pain relief measures, rest, and physical rehabilitation.  

Robaxin oral administration involves ingestion by mouth. After the initial 2 to 3 days of treatment, your doctor may recommend reducing the dosage, and comply with your physician’s dosage directives. 

Side Effects 

Allergic Reactions

In the event of symptoms such as hives, breathing difficulties, facial swelling, tongue swelling, or throat swelling, obtain immediate medical assistance. 

Serious Side Effects

Immediately discontinue methocarbamol use and promptly contact your physician if you experience any of the following: 

• Lightheadedness that may result in fainting 
• Slow heart rate 
• Seizure activity 
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) 
• Pain, discoloration, or skin changes in the area of a methocarbamol injection 

Common Side Effects

• Headache, dizziness, or drowsiness 
• Fever 
• Confusion or memory issues 
• Nausea, vomiting, or stomach upset 
• Blurred or double vision 
• Flushing, warmth, or a tingly sensation

Caution

Drowsiness and blurred vision: Methocarbamol may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. Using alcohol or cannabis can exacerbate these symptoms. Do not operate heavy machinery or perform tasks that require alertness and clear vision until you feel safe to do so. Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages. If you use cannabis, consult your doctor.

Older adults: Elderly individuals may be more sensitive to the drug’s side effects, particularly confusion, dizziness, or drowsiness. These symptoms may increase the risk of falls. 

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Discuss the benefits and risks of taking the medication with your doctor. The medication’s passage into breast milk is unknown, so consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
