Indication 

R and C Shampoo and Conditioner is used to treat lice infestations, including head lice, pubic lice (crabs), or body lice. 

R and C Shampoo and Conditioner contains two active ingredients: piperonyl butoxide and pyrethrins.  

Pyrethrin is an insecticide that functions by causing paralysis and death in lice. Piperonyl butoxide, on the other hand, is a synergist that increases the effectiveness of pyrethrin. 

Uses and Dosage 

Thoroughly review the patient information leaflet for R and C Shampoo and Conditioner before initial use and with each refill. If you have any questions, seek guidance from your doctor or pharmacist. 

R and C Shampoo and Conditioner is intended for a single application on the infested area to eliminate lice.  

Do not apply this medication to the eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina. In case of contact with these areas, rinse thoroughly with water. Notify your doctor promptly if irritation occurs. 

The typical dosage of R and C Shampoo and Conditioner is 25ml. However, individuals with thicker or longer hair may use more than 25ml. 

For effective use of R and C Shampoo and Conditioner, adhere to these steps: 

1. Shake the shampoo and conditioner container well before use. 
2. Apply the shampoo and conditioner to dry hair, avoiding the use of any other products before application. 
3. Thoroughly saturate the hair and skin in the infected area and adjacent hairy areas with the shampoo and conditioner. 
   •  Apply it close to the scalp for head lice, especially around the nape of the neck.  
   • For crab lice, ensure it is applied close to the skin of the infested area. 
4. Allow the shampoo and conditioner to remain in the area for 10 minutes to eliminate lice and penetrate nits effectively.  
   • Cover hair with a shower cap to prevent drips, keeping the cap away from the face. 
5. After 10 minutes, add a small amount of water and work the shampoo and conditioner into the hair and skin until a lather forms. 
6. Rinse thoroughly with water, avoiding contact with the eyes. 

Following the treatment, use the provided nit comb to eliminate dead lice and nits. 

A second application of R and C Shampoo and Conditioner is recommended 7-10 days following the initial application to eliminate any newly hatched nymphs (eggs). 

To avoid reinfestation: 

• All infested family members should be treated with R and C shampoo and conditioner at the same time. 
• Items such as clothing worn 48 hours before treatment, towels, and bed linens should be washed in hot water or dry-cleaned.  
• Combs and brushes should be disinfected by immersing them in hot water at a temperature of 54°C or more or use R&C shampoo and conditioner for 10 to 15 minutes, followed by a thorough rinse with water.

Allergic Reactions 

Severe allergic reactions to R and C Shampoo and Conditioner are uncommon. However, seek immediate medical assistance if you experience symptoms such as: 

• Rash 
• Itching 
• Swelling (particularly of the face, tongue, or throat) 
• Severe dizziness 
• Difficulty breathing

Cautions 

Talk to your doctor before using R and C Shampoo and Conditioner if you have any known allergies, particularly to chrysanthemum, ragweed, or any of the ingredients in this shampoo and conditioner. 

Seek advice from your doctor regarding the safety of using R and C Shampoo and Conditioner if you have any medical conditions (e.g., skin infections) or are taking other medications, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements. 

Excessive or persistent scratching of the scalp can result in a bacterial skin infection. Promptly inform your doctor if you notice increased redness or pus. 

Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should seek guidance from their healthcare provider before using R and C Shampoo and Conditioner to assess its safety for both themselves and their infants.
