Indications 

Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream is indicated for the alleviation of vaginal itching, burning, and white discharge associated with vaginal yeast infections (candidiasis). 

As an azole antifungal medication, Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream works by suppressing the growth of the yeast (fungus) causing the infection. 

Uses and Dosage 

Carefully read the accompanying information leaflet of Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream prior to the first use and with each subsequent refill. Seek guidance from a healthcare professional for any inquiries or additional information. 

Before using this vaginal cream, consult your doctor if you are experiencing symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection for the first time. 

Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream is intended for use in the vagina only. Avoid applying it to the mouth and prevent contact with the eyes. In case of accidental exposure, rinse thoroughly with water. 

This medication is available in a prefilled applicator for use once a night for seven nights. 

Prior to and following the application of this cream, ensure to wash your hands. 

To properly administer this vaginal cream, adhere to the following steps: 

1. Unscrew the blue cap from the prefilled applicator. 
2. Insert the plunger into the prefilled applicator by placing the small, pointed end into the grey hole at the opposite end of the applicator. 
3. Stand, squat, or lie on your back with your knees bent.  
   • Hold the prefilled applicator at the plunger end and gently insert it into the vagina as far as it comfortably goes.  
   • While holding the applicator in place, gently depress the plunger to release the cream into the vagina.  
   • Remove the applicator and discard. 
4. Repeat steps 1- 3 before bedtime for six consecutive evenings. 

To protect your clothing from potential leakage or discharge caused by Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream, consider using deodorant-free pads or panty shields. 

For optimal results, apply Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream consistently at the same time(s) each night. Use it exactly as directed on the product package or as directed by your doctor. 

Continue using this cream daily for the entire prescribed duration, even if symptoms subside within a few days or if your menstrual period begins. Prematurely discontinuing the medication may lead to a recurrence of the yeast infection. 

If the infection persists or worsens after completing one course of therapy, consult your doctor, as you may have a different type of infection.

• Lower abdominal cramps 

Notify your doctor if any of these common side effects continue or become more severe. 

Most users of Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream rarely experience severe side effects. 

Allergic Reactions 

Rare but severe allergic reactions to Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream may occur. 

Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms of a serious allergic reaction emerge, such as: 

• Rash 
• Itching 
• Swelling, particularly of the face/tongue/throat 
• Severe dizziness 
• Difficulty in breathing

Cautions 

Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream is effective only for treating vaginal fungal infections. If experiencing symptoms like fever, chills, flu-like symptoms, stomach/abdominal pain, or foul-smelling vaginal discharge, refrain from using this medication. Contact your doctor promptly, as these could indicate a more serious infection, possibly requiring a different treatment. 

Before using Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream, consult a healthcare professional if you have known allergies, especially to miconazole, other azole antifungal agents (e.g., terconazole, fluconazole), or any inactive ingredients in this vaginal cream. 

Seek advice from a healthcare provider before starting treatment with Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream if you have: 

• Diabetes 
• Immune system disorders (such as HIV-AIDS) 
• History of recurrent vaginal yeast infections (3 or more in 6 months, or 4 in 1 year) 

Warfarin is a substance that may interact with Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream. To mitigate the risk of interaction, consult with a healthcare professional before using this cream if you are taking any medications, including prescription and non-prescription drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements. 

The use of Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream may compromise the effectiveness of a condom or diaphragm. Employ an alternative form of birth control while using this cream. 

Consult a healthcare professional before using Monistat 7 Vaginal Cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
