Description

Indications

Lioresal is a prescribed medication for managing pain and spasticity (muscle stiffness and tightness) associated with multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, or other spinal cord disorders.

Classified as a skeletal muscle relaxant, Lioresal targets spinal cord nerves to reduce the occurrence and intensity of muscle spasms in patients with specific spinal cord conditions. Furthermore, it alleviates pain and enhances muscle mobility.

Uses and Dosage

Before taking Lioresal and with each prescription refill, thoroughly review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about any queries or concerns.

Lioresal dosage is individualized according to the patient’s medical condition and response to the treatment. It is usually taken three times a day as prescribed by the doctor, without regard to food intake.

To mitigate potential side effects, healthcare professionals may initially prescribe a low dose and gradually titrate it. Adhere closely to the instructions provided by your doctor.

Keep taking Lioresal even if you are feeling well. Ceasing intake without consulting your doctor, particularly after prolonged use of high doses, can lead to seizures, fever, confusion, muscle stiffness, or hallucinations. Your doctor will recommend a gradual reduction in dosage.
