Drug Description

Indications

Klor-Con is a mineral supplement prescribed to manage and prevent hypokalemia, with or without metabolic alkalosis, in patients who do not respond adequately to dietary potassium-rich foods or reduced diuretic dosage.

Klor-Con serves as an electrolyte restorative agent; it replenishes potassium losses, averting the onset of potassium insufficiency. Such an effect aids in the optimal functioning of cells, kidneys, heart, muscles, and nerves.

Uses and Dosage

Before taking Klor-Con and upon every refill, carefully review its medication guide and patient information leaflet. For any inquiries or uncertainties, seek counsel from your physician or pharmacist.

The dosage of Klor-Con varies based on the medical condition and must be adjusted to each patient’s individual needs.

Klor-Con is typically taken with meals and a glass of water or other liquid to avoid gastric irritations. Refrain from lying down for at least 10 minutes after taking this supplement.

Klor-Con tablets should be ingested whole and never crushed, chewed, or sucked, as doing so may cause the release of the entire drug content at once, heightening the probability of side effects.

To achieve optimal results, take Klor-Con regularly around the same time daily as prescribed. Do not lower or exceed 20 milliequivalents per dose or alter the frequency of administration without medical oversight.

Inform your physician if your condition persists or if you experience signs of low potassium in the blood, such as arrhythmia or muscular weakness/cramping.
