Description
Indications
Tranexamic acid is administered on a short-term basis to individuals afflicted with hemophilia, a specific bleeding disorder, with the aim of preempting and mitigating bleeding that may arise from dental extractions.
This medication finds utility in individuals with various other high-risk bleeding conditions, enabling the effective management of bleeding episodes following surgical procedures or injuries, during severe nosebleeds, or amidst heavy menstrual bleeding.
The mechanism of action of tranexamic acid involves facilitating the restoration of normal blood clotting processes, thus averting and arresting prolonged bleeding. This pharmaceutical agent belongs to the esteemed class of anti-fibrinolytic drugs.
