Description

Indications

Claritin, an antihistamine medication, effectively counteracts the effects of histamine, a naturally occurring chemical in the body.

This chemical can trigger symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose, commonly associated with colds or allergies.

In addition to treating these symptoms, Claritin is also utilized to alleviate skin hives and itching in individuals who experience chronic skin reactions.

Uses and Dosage

To ensure optimal and safe usage, take Claritin exactly as directed by the label or as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Avoid using in excessive or insufficient quantities and do not extend the recommended duration of usage.

This antihistamine medication is utilized for a brief period until symptoms subside. Prior consultation with a physician is necessary before administering cough or cold medication to children, as misuse can result in fatal outcomes in young children.

As directed by the physician, Claritin is usually taken once daily. Ensure to comply with the prescribed instructions. To ensure optimal effectiveness, swallow the regular tablet whole without crushing, chewing, or breaking it.

The appropriate dose for a child is based on their age and some forms of loratadine are not intended for use in children younger than 6 years of age. Hence, strictly follow the dosing instructions that accompany the medicine.
