In addition, Amoxil Chewables can be used in conjunction with other medications to eradicate H. pylori, a bacterium responsible for ulcers. 

As a penicillin-like antibiotic, Amoxil Chewables functions by inhibiting bacterial growth. 

Uses and Dosage 

Before taking Amoxil Chewables and with every prescription refill, thoroughly review the accompanying medication guide and patient information leaflet. Seek guidance from your doctor or pharmacist for any questions or uncertainties. 

The appropriate dosage of Amoxil Chewables is determined by the patient’s medical condition and response to the treatment. 

Typically, Amoxil Chewables is taken every 8 or 12 hours as prescribed by the doctor without regard to food intake. Tablets must be chewed well and swallowed with a glass of water. 

For optimal effectiveness, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced intervals, at around the same times each day.

The use of Amoxil Chewables can rarely lead to a serious intestinal condition caused by C. difficile bacteria. This condition can occur while taking the medication or even after treatment has ended, ranging from weeks to months later.  

Should you experience ongoing diarrhea or abdominal discomfort or notice blood or mucus in your stool, inform your doctor without delay. Avoid the use of anti-diarrhea or opioid medications if experiencing these symptoms, as they can exacerbate the condition. 

Allergic Reactions

Birth control pills and other hormone-based contraceptives may have reduced effectiveness while taking Amoxil Chewables. The use of an additional form of contraception, such as a condom, is recommended to ensure pregnancy prevention. 

Amoxil Chewables should be utilized during pregnancy only if necessary. Consult your doctor to evaluate the potential risks and advantages. 

Amoxicillin is excreted into breast milk. Seek guidance from your healthcare provider prior to nursing a child.
